An unidentified man was asked to leave a plane during the boarding process of a flight with Allegiant Air because his mask had a "comment" written on it. It appears that that comment may have been "Let's Go Brandon."

As of the time of this writing, there is no information available about which flight it was or where it was headed, although, since the start of the pandemic, passenger ejections from flights are not so uncommon anymore.

The flight attendant in the video calls to attention the "comment you've written on there", indicating the passenger's face mask.

She then insists that the man remove the mask and put another one on, despite the fact that federal regulations only allow you to remove your mask on a plane when you are actively eating or drinking.

Throughout the video, the man appears to remain calm, while asking the attendant what exactly was wrong with what was written on the mask. He also asked her to cite the regulation he was violating. No answer to his questions were given at any time.

Just over half a minute into the video the attendant tells the man "Alright, I'm gonna have to ask you to exit the aircraft, please."

She also told the man to turn the camera off, saying "I do not give you permission to film me." The man then gathered his things and exited, also peacefully.

According to Fox Business, the airline later released the following statement:

"The video in question depicts part of an incident involving a passenger who failed to comply with repeated crew member requests to adhere to the federal face mask policy," starts off the statement, although the video clearly shows the man wearing the same sort of mask as his fellow passengers.

"The passenger was removed from the flight and issued a refund for his fare. Disregarding instructions from flight crew members is prohibited by federal regulations and is grounds for removal from a flight where such conduct creates an unsafe environment." The statement goes on:

"The decision to remove a passenger is never made lightly and is always done with the safety of our passengers and crew in mind. In April, the FAA adopted a zero-tolerance policy against unruly passenger behavior, which includes failure to comply with crew members’ instructions."

"We welcome the FAA’s renewed strong stance on unruly passengers, understanding the safety risk such incidents can create for both passengers and crew."

Allegiant Airlines did not comment further on exactly how a comment written on a face mask might possibly constitute any sort of "unsafe" behavior, or how such a comment could have threatened the safety of either the crew or the plane's passengers.
