The New York Police Department recently released a video showing an officer getting stabbed in the neck by an unprovoked assailant in Flatbush on Wednesday.
The suspect is Dzenan Camovic—who has remained in the hospital with gunshot wounds after police responded to the attack—can be seen making his way up Church Avenue before turning into Flatbush Avenue and attacking the police officer just before midnight, according to the New York Post.
The video cuts out just before Camovic, 20, allegedly overtook an officer's firearm and shot two more officers in the seemingly random attack.
It was reported that Camovic shouted "Allahu Akbar" during the attack.
According to a tweet by the department, "this was not a chance encounter—it was a planned assassination attempt on an NYPD police officer."
Earlier this week, 1 of our officers was stabbed in the neck without warning while protecting NYers. This was not a chance encounter—it was a planned assassination attempt on an NYPD police officer.

"It's only be sheer luck that this didn't have a drastically different outcome."
Camovic remains in critical condition after he was shot several times by a sergeant responding to the incident. And the three officers who were injured are in stable condition.
Camovic faces three separate accounts of attempted murder on a police officer. The FBI has gotten involved and is actively exploring possible federal charges.
The attack came as protesters and rioters have gained national attention amid the unjust death of George Floyd.
Though the attack was not part of a demonstration, Camovic had opened a Twitter account this month and had like 24 tweets from those tweeting about the George Floyd protests, looting in New York and anti-cop propaganda, according to the police.
