Mainstream media has shifted the narrative surrounding the Iowa High School shooting suspect, suggesting that the lone gunman, Dylan Butler, who identifies as "genderfluid," carried out the attack because he had been "relentlessly" bullied since childhood.

Dylan Butler, 17, who used he/they pronouns before dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after he had shot and killed a sixth-grade boy and injured five others during a mass shooting at Perry High School in Iowa on Thursday, was reportedly "hurting" from the "bullying" and got tired of the "harassment," classmates told the Associated Press.

Classmates Yesenia Roeder and Khamya Hall, both 17, alleged that Butler had been a victim of bullying since elementary school, which recently escalated when his younger sister also started getting bullied. They claimed Butler had reached the "last straw," suggesting that it was the reason behind why he killed and injured innocent students.

"He was hurting. He got tired. He got tired of the bullying. He got tired of the harassment," said Roeder.

"Was it a smart idea to shoot up the school? No. God, no," she added.

Police are still investigating a motive and are looking into "a number of social media posts" that Butler had posted around the time of the shooting.

This school shooting follows the recent leak of pages of the manifesto written by trans-identified Nashville mass school shooter, Aubrey "Aiden" Hale, which provided a detailed plan as to how Hale would kill innocent students and faculty members at the Covenant Christian School. Three young children and three school staff members were killed before Hale, 28, was shot dead by responding police on March 27, 2023.

Hales mass shooting preceded a planned "Trans Day of Vengeance" event outside the US Supreme Court that was ultimately canceled. In the immediate hours after the shooting, trans activists occupied several state capitol buildings to protest pending legislation restricting the gender transitioning of children. At the capitol in Nashville, trans activists held a moment of silence for the victims of the mass shooting. They held up seven fingers to include Hale as among the victims.

It has been revealed that Iowa school shooter, Dylan Butler, allegedly had a TikTok account under the username "tooktoomuch." That account, which has been wiped offline by authorities, featured a gay pride flag in the biography. Butler reportedly appears in a video on that account which shows him inside a bathroom stall with a duffel bag on the ground next to him. He captioned the post with the words "now we wait" along with an attached song playing called "Stray Bullets."

Other videos on the account include Butler talking about getting "faded" on Christmas, or getting high, having a pretend gunfight on a school playground with another person, and smoking weed with a group. In one photo posted as part of a group, Butler posted, "bro thought I was sharing my Gatorade, he’s mad," accompanied with trans flag emojis as well as the hashtag "genderfluid."

Another account called DylanSayWhat shows the pronouns "he/they."

Mainstream media outlets have not yet reported that Butler allegedly identifies as "genderfluid," despite an increase in calls from the transgender community to carry out acts of violence on whom they presume to be targets.

In November 2023, an Illinois trans-identified biological male, Jason "Alexia" Lee Willie, 47, of Illinois, was arrested on criminal charges after authorities say he threatened to shoot up schools and rape Christian girls in the bathroom. His threats were allegedly modeled after transgender Nashville Christian Covenant School mass shooter Audrey "Aiden" Hale.

Willie had asserted that the attacks would be justified due to claims that "transgender people are being picked on," saying that "We are at war." He mentioned transgender mass shooter Audrey Hale and threatened that there would be more similar attacks.
