Craig Ross Jr was charged with kidnapping in the first degree.
Craig Ross Jr, 46, was subsequently charged with one count of kidnapping in the first degree and is being held without bail in the Saratoga County Jail.
According to Fox News, Ross was tracked down by authorities and apprehended by state and federal tactical teams on Monday evening at the camper he lived in behind his mother's trailer in Milton, NY.
"After some resistance, the suspect was taken into custody and immediately the little girl was found in a cabinet," Governor Kathy Hochul said in a press conference. "She knew she was being rescued. She knew that she was in safe hands."
Sena was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was reunited with her family.
"We are thrilled that she is home and we understand that the outcome is not what every family gets," her parents said in a statement. "A huge thank you to the FBI, the New York State police, all of the agencies that were mobilized, all of the families, friends, community, neighbors and hundreds of volunteers who supported us and worked tirelessly to bring Charlotte home."
Sena went missing on Saturday during a family camping trip to Moreau Lake State Park. Her bike was discovered in the heavily wooded area and an Amber Alert was issued the following day.
While her family remained at the campsite, authorities monitored their home. Early Monday morning, officers saw a man drop something in their mailbox. Fingerprints were taken from what turned out to be a ransom note, and matched with those of Ross, who was in the system thanks to a 1999 DWI arrest.
The fingerprints led police to Ross' camper, where he was detained.
