MUST WATCH: Arizona border crossing sees over 700 illegal immigrants enter US in one day

John Modlin, Chief Patrol Agent of the US Border Patrol's Tucson Sector, announced the agency will be "pausing" updates on the crisis "until further notice."

On Saturday, more than 700 illegal immigrants surged through the US-Southern border in Arizona. Border officials warn that the number will likely increase into the thousands and announced that their reporting on the situation will be "paused until further notice."

The announcement has been slammed for lack of transparency and people began to question why the Border agency decided to stop informing the public about the current surge of illegal immigrants.

Video shows hundreds of illegal immigrants standing in a massive line at the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, which is a few hours west of Lukeville, Arizona. They had just illegally entered into the United States.

John Fabbricatore, a retired ICE director, shared a video of the situation on X and said: "700+ migrants have crossed illegally within last few hours west of Lukeville, AZ in the Organ Pipe National Monument. Line is growing & is over a quarter mile long!!!"

"This has become a regular occurrence for the Border Patrol. Where is the mainstream media?" he questioned.

This batch of illegals are being processed at Ajo Station.

Additional videos show illegal immigrants crossing into the US at nightfall by the hundreds.

"As darkness descends on Lukeville AZ nearly a thousand illegal aliens have crossed the border and turned themselves over to Border Patrol. Where are these people going? Numerous countries other than Mexico are crossing. Here is another video. Crying children can be heard," Fabbricatore reported, sharing further footage of the crisis.

As these viral videos surface across social media, John Modlin, Chief Patrol Agent of the US Border Patrol's Tucson Sector, announced on Sunday that the agency will be "pausing" updates on the crisis "until further notice."

"In light of the ongoing migration surge, all Tucson Sector Border Patrol social media accounts will be paused until further notice. We appreciate your understanding and continued support during this challenging time. Honor First," Modlin said on X.

Modlin's post followed up with complaints about a lack of transparency and why Border Patrol feels the need to allegedly keep the public in the dark.

"Any bets Mayorkas told them to shut up?" one person replied.

"This is insane. This is precisely when the 1st Amendment is needed most. You don't just get to suppress it while inconvenient. You're a law enforcement agency. Police violations of policy, don't shut down speech. This isn't hard," another said.

"Why? Wouldn't it be more important than ever? or were you told to stand down?" added another.

The recent surge comes after data released by Border Patrol last month revealed historic numbers of illegal crossings under the Biden administration at the hands of the president's open border policies.

The US-Southern border has seen more than 2 million illegal crossings within the past year, with more than 6 million encounters since Joe Biden became president in 2021.

Apprehensions of people who are on the terrorist watch list are nearly double last year's record total. According to the CBP data, 172 non-citizens who were on the terrorist watchlist were apprehended at the border, which was an increase from 2022's record year of 98. Before 2021, the highest number was six in 2018, and it has skyrocketed since the Biden administration took over.

Total encounters for enforcement officials was 434,562 higher than in 2022 at a total of 3,201,144 for FY 2023. Since 2020, the total encounters has continued to increase, with 646,822 total encounters in 2020, 1,956,519 a year later, and 2,766,582 two years later.

Former President Donald Trump, who is the 2024 GOP presidential frontrunner, recently warned about a massive caravan of illegal immigrants headed to the United States. He has vowed to make border security a top priority if he were to take back the White House in 2025.
