CNN took Donald Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt off the air when she started to bring up Jake Tapper's history of comparing Trump to Adolf Hitler. The viral clip comes just a few days before Tapper is set to moderate the debate between Trump and incumbent President Joe Biden.

Leavitt started, saying, "It takes someone five minutes to Google Jake Tapper, Donald Trump to see that—" but CNN host Kasie Hunt then started to cut off and talk over Leavitt.

As Hunt talked over Leavitt, the Trump campaign spokeswoman continued, adding that Tapper has "consistently ... likened Trump to Adolf Hitler." Hunt spoke over Leavitt as she spoke about the comparison that Tapper has made between the Nazi leader and Trump.

Hunt then added, "Ma'am, I'm going to stop this interview if you continue to attack my colleagues. I would like to talk about Joe Biden and Donald Trump, who you work for. If you are here to speak on his behalf, I am willing to have this conversation."

Leavitt was attempting to respond while Hunt continued to talk over the Trump spokeswoman in the segment. Leavitt then stated, "I am stating facts that your colleagues have stated in the past."

Hunt then cut the interview and said they would come back "after the panel." Leavitt was taken off air, and Hunt then added, "Thank you for your time. You are welcome to come back at any point. She is welcome to come back and speak about Donald Trump."

The CNN host then said that Trump and Biden will have "equal time" later this week in the debate hosted by CNN with Tapper as one of the moderators.

Per Fox News, Tapper has stated before, "With four weeks until Ohioans cast the nation’s first votes in the 2024 presidential race, the dehumanizing rhetoric of Adolf Hitler is once again alive and well on the national political stage. This time, of course, in the United States. This time, given life by former president and current Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump, whose thoughts on immigrants were made shockingly crystal clear over the weekend."

The comments were made in reference to when Trump commented that illegal immigrants are "poisoning the blood of our country." Tapper argued that these mirrored comments made by Hitler. Trump made the comments at a rally in New Hampshire when he was addressing gang violence and other problems that surfaced due to illegal immigration in the US happening at record numbers.
