A Vice News interview with Gaza Strip Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar that was published in June of 2021 has recently resurfaced, with Sinwar claiming that the "racism" that "killed" George Floyd is being used by Israel against Palestinians.

During the interview, Sinwar said, "I want to take this opportunity to remember the racist murder of George Floyd."

"George Floyd was killed as a result of a racist ideology held by some people. The same type of racism that killed George Floyd is being used by [Israel] against the Palestinians in Jerusalem, the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, and in the West Bank."

Following the launch of an attack by Hamas in the Gaza Strip on October 7, Black Lives Matter groups across the US issued statements in support of the terrorist organization, which has killed at least 1,400 Israelis and taken nearly 200 people hostage.

Black Lives Matter Grassroots issued a statement in "solidarity with the Palestinian people," stating that "As the world is faced with deep questions about self-determination, as we all desire and pray for a world of peace, we must stand unwaveringly on the side of the oppressed."

"When a people have been the subject of decades of apartheid and unimaginable violence, their resistance must not be condemned, but understood as a desperate act of self-defense."

Black Lives Matter Chicago issued a controversial statement that included a depiction of a paraglider, which Hamas used to invade Israel, which the group later deleted.

"Yesterday we sent out msgs that we aren’t proud of," BLM Chicago said in a post on X regarding the deleted post. "We stand with Palestine & the people who will do what they must to live free. Our hearts are with, the grieving mothers, those rescuing babies from rubble, who are in danger of being wiped out completely."

BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors had previously called for the eradication of Israel, stating "Palestine is our generation's South Africa. If we don't step up boldly and courageously to end the imperialist project that's called 'Israel' we're doomed."
