This week, the National Archives sent over almost 6,000 pages of emails to the House Oversight Committee as part of its investigation into President Biden.

In a pair of letters to Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) obtained by Axios, General Counsel for the National Archives Gary Stern revealed that a total of 5,860 pages containing 211 emails had been sent over to the committee in response to a Sep. 6, and Aug 17 request to do so.

The first letter was in response to any Aug. 17 request by the committee for "access to certain Presidential and Vice Presidential records from Obama Administration." In the letter, Stern said that the 5,780 pates with 195 emails were about communication where a pseudonym was used for then-Vice President Biden, the communication involved Hunter Biden, Eric Schwerin, or Devon Archer.

The letter was also to notify that the National archives had turned over "All drafts from November 1, 2015 to December 9, 2015 of then-Vice President Biden’s speech delivered to the Ukrainian Rada on December 9, 2015."

The second letter was in response to a Sep. 6 request for all documents and communication "to or from the Executive Office of the President (including but not limited to the Office of the Vice President)" that involved Eric Schwerin, Devon Archer, Vuk Jeremic, John Robinson “Rob” Walker, or Jeffrey Cooper.

Along with communications to or from Kate Bedingfield, Michael Carpenter, Kathy Chung, Amos Hochstein, Colin Kahl, and Alexander Mackler regarding Hunter or James Biden. The executive calendars for then-Vice President Joe Biden dating from January 20, 2009 to January 20, 2017 were also turned over.

A senior House Democratic aide told the outlet that over 20,000 pages of emails have been turned over to the National Archives, and 75,000 more by the Biden family since the investigation began.

The House Oversight Committee revealed the impeachment inquiry in September to investigate if Biden "abused his federal office to enrich his family and conceal his and/or his family's misconduct." The allegations focus on the president's son Hunter and his foreign business dealings, as well as "President Joe Biden’s involvement in his family’s foreign business entanglements,” and “…steps taken by the Biden Administration to slow, hamper, or otherwise impede the criminal investigation of the President’s son, Robert Hunter Biden, which involves funds received by the Biden family from foreign sources.”
