The suspect in the targeted shooting of two Minnesota state lawmakers had a manifesto with a list of names as well as flyers with the saying "No Kings" in his car.

The suspect, who conducted a targeted shooting of state Rep. Melissa Hortman as well as her husband and Sen. John Hoffman as well as his wife, was impersonating a police officer, and had flyers with "No Kings" as well as a manifesto with a list of lawmakers' names in his fake cop car. Hortman and her husband were killed in the shooting while Hoffman as well as his wife were admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

"When we did a search of the vehicle, there was a manifesto that identified many lawmakers and other officials. We immediately made alerts to the state. We took action on alerting them and providing security where necessary,” Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Bruley said, per the AP.

The Minnesota police also posted a photo of the "No Kings" flyers on X.

The suspect was identified as Vance Luther Boelter, according to the Blaze's Julio Rosas. The journalist wrote, "It appears it is the same Boelter who was appointed to the Governor’s Workforce Development Board in 2019 by Gov. Tim Walz. He appointed to the Governor's Workforce Development Council in 2016 by then-Gov. Mark Dayton."

"Given the targeted shootings of state lawmakers overnight, we are asking the public to not attend today’s planned demonstrations across Minnesota out of an abundance of caution," the police also stated.

President Donald Trump said of the shooting, "I have been briefed on the terrible shooting that took place in Minnesota, which appears to be a targeted attack against State Lawmakers. Our Attorney General, Pam Bondi, and the FBI, are investigating the situation, and they will be prosecuting anyone involved to the fullest extent of the law. Such horrific violence will not be tolerated in the United States of America. God Bless the great people of Minnesota, a truly great place!"

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz also commented on the incident, saying that he was "cautiously optimistic" that Hoffman and his wife would survive after being admitted in critical condition to the hospital.
