The advertisement came out on Thursday morning as jurors deliberated for a second day in the New York City trial.
A new ad was released by the Trump campaign on Thursday, taking aim at the multiple cases that have been filed both at the state and federal level. The advertisement came out ahead of Trump being found guilty on all 34 counts brought against him in the NYC trial.
The ad opens with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announcing the arraignment of Donald Trump on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. It then cuts to various pundits and experts across the political spectrum calling out the case.
Former Attorney General Bill Barr said "this case is an abomination. It's obviously political, seven years trying to come up with this case. They're just wrong on the law."
"The only crime that Donald Trump is being prosecuted for is the crime of running for president," former White House speechwriter Marc Thiessen said.
The advertisement continues through a cast of people from outlets such as Fox News and CNN, with the comments and visuals becoming broader to encapsulate the multitude of cases against him, including Fulton County DA Fani Willis’ 2020 election case and the Biden administration’s Mar-a-Lago documents and January 6 cases.
"They’ve quite frankly given up on trying to beat him at the polls," Steve Bannon said. "They’re either going to steal it or stop it by lawfare."
"What's going on here is a disgusting disgrace. It is war on Trump. It is war on the Republican Party, and it's a war on the republic," said Mark Levin.
In regard to the New York case, Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz said, "This case is the weakest case I’ve seen in 60 years of teaching, practicing and writing about criminal law."
"I doubt the New York indictment would have been brought against a defendant whose name was not Donald Trump," said CNN’s Fareed Zakaria.
The takes from commentators played alongside footage of Trump addressing reporters outside the NYC courtroom, meeting supporters at rallies and campaign events, as well as footage of the various attorneys and judges in the cases against him.
