A New York Times editor is being lambasted for showcasing her strong political bias by sending a tweet that President-elect Joe Biden landing in Maryland ahead of the inauguration gave her "chills."
"Biden landing at Joint Base Andrews now. I have chills," editor Lauren Wolfe said in a now deleted tweet, the Blaze reported.
Fox News journalist Brit Hume responded to Wolfe' tweet, saying, "I hope it's because it's cold out. But I suspect not."
Wolfe attempted to try and pass off her "chills" comment as merely being excitement for a "historical moment."
"Really, Brit? You've never felt excited at historical moments? Stop inciting your fans who are coming after me with threats. This was an innocuous tweet and you know it," Wolfe replied.
Another Twitter user called out Wolfe for her blatant bias as a journalist. "A journalist having 'chills' before a president is even sworn in is chilling... Not in your sense of the word, though."
Wolfe responded, "I'm shocked that you all don't feel the importance. Such historical events are deeply moving and thrilling."
"This attempt to s**t on me is nothing more than shortsighted presumption," she continued. She then reportedly deleted her response to the user.
After a slew of criticism from Twitter users calling her journalistic integrity into question, Wolfe sent out a broad response to her critics, saying, "So a bunch of people think me being excited for the transfer of power tomorrow is somehow disgusting/idiotic/against journalism. It's a shame. We should all be interested in historical moments." That tweet was deleted as well.
