The New York Times outright changed their editorial mind and declined to call the terrorists terrorists.
The New York Times made a small yet significant change to one of their articles on the horrific terrorist attack by Palestinian group Hamas, changing the language of a story from calling them terrorists to calling them, simply, gunmen.
The article, published Tuesday, first read "As Israeli soldiers regain control of areas near Gaza that came under attack, they are finding evidence seen in videos and photos and confirmed by witness accounts of the massacre of civilians by Hamas terrorists."
It was later changed to read "As Israeli soldiers regain control of areas near Gaza that came under attack, they are finding evidence seen in videos and photos and confirmed by witness accounts of the massacre of civilians by Hamas gunmen." Greg Price pointed this out on Twitter, and archive links show that it was altered.
In the wake of the attacks on Israel over the weekend, which was the beginning of an all-out war between Hamas in Gaza and Israel, while Lebanon's terrorist faction Hezbollah attacked and continues to lambast Israel from the north, many in media called for something of an equivocation between the attacks by Hamas and the swift retaliation by Israel.
The massacre of civilians in Israel by Hamas terrorists was brutal and organized.
The New York Times outright changed their editorial mind and declined to call the terrorists terrorists. Canada's CBC issued guidelines to reporters to not call Hamas terrorists terrorists, saying "Do not refer to militants, soldiers, or anyone else as 'terrorists.'"
That leaked email from Director of Journalistic Standards George Achi told reporters how to interpret history, as well, saying "Please do not describe 2005 as 'the end of the occupaton' as Israel has maintained control over airspace, seafront and virtually all movement in or out of the area."
In 2005, Israel withdrew from Gaza, evicted 9,000 Israelis from their homes in the region, and the people of Gaza elected the political wing of Hamas to leadership of the territory.
MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell asked an Israeli mother how she felt about the attacks on Gaza. This while her children are still in the hands of the terrorists who kidnapped them. Hamas issued a warning that they would execute hostages on television for every airstrike Israel launched against Gaza.
Congressman Dan Goldman went as far as to equivocate Hamas terrorists to tiny factions of racists in the US.
American elected leaders in Congress, like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Jamaal Bowman, and others have issued statements that support Palestinians against Israel. They are in company with porn star Mia Khalifa, who is Lebanese American and backs the terrorist jihadis fully. The UN also condemned the siege on Gaza by Israel, saying that it was not an appropriate response to mass slaughter.
Pro-Palestinian protests emerged in cities around the world, held by Arab immigrants to anglophone nations which are more tolerant of free speech than any nations in the Middle East or North Africa. Advocates of Palestinian terror called for the extermination of Jews, the eradication of Israel, and the furtherance of the Islamic war against Jews and Christians globally. But the New York Times, CBC, and American elected officials think calling the intentional slaughter of nearly 1,000 Israelis, the largest massacre of Jews since the Germans undertook the Holocaust in the 1940s, an act of terrorism was simply too strong.
They're not terrorists, says the Times, let's go with gunmen, thanks.
The New York Times left "terrorists" in the story, saying "The soldiers, retaking control of the kibbutzim, towns and settlements near the Gaza Strip that came under attack by Palestinian terrorists over the weekend, have recovered body after body after body."
But in the excerpt, at the top of the story, they equivocated, and in so doing they claimed that the organized mission to murder and kidnap Israelis, which was backed by Iran, was simply carried out by gunmen, when in fact it was an organized terror attack.
