The Dalton School, long considered one of the best-known preparatory schools in the world for the elite, has found itself in the middle of what is being called a "race meltdown" over Critical Race Theory as school administrators scramble to implement so-called "anti-racist" measures including required courses on "Black liberation" and an overhaul of the curriculum to reflect woke narratives.

Colin Wright, the evolutionary biologist and journalist, posted the following on Twitter on Thursday:

"The Dalton School in Manhattan is having a race meltdown. It's absolutely insane. Teachers are holding the school for ransom with demands, but they're so extreme the school will crumble if they give in. But they'll crumble if they don't, too! Here are some of the demands:"

"Dalton has... actively encouraged the sort of thinking that is now biting them in the ass. And the obvious irony is that if Dalton is 'systemically racist,' a belief they themselves promote, it is progressives who bear the responsibility."

"Other schools & universities should take note. Giving in to this ideology is not a winning strategy. Hiring diversity officers will not improve your situation. Diversity officers are good at one thing: finding reasons to justify hiring more diversity officers."

"You eventually reach a tipping point where there are so many diversity officers fighting to uncover ever-more nuanced forms of racism and perceived oppression that a school's probability of boiling over in a moral panic for no apparent reason approaches 1. [the first tweet in the series]."

The Dalton School has already been in the public eye a lot these year for being one of few educational institutions in NYC refusing to re-open. Needless to say, people who are paying $54,000 plus per year for tuition expect more than classes on Zoom for their money.

The full list of demands can be found in this eight page document. It has been signed by over 100 faculty and staff members.
