Gabbard said that Lightfoot’s “blatant anti-white racism is abhorrent,” and she urged President Biden and Vice President Harris to demand Lightfoot resign as mayor of Chicago.
Former Hawaii congresswoman and Democrat presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard has issued a public call to the Biden administration to condemn the "blatant" racism of Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. On Monday, Lightfoot said she would no longer be giving white reporters access for one-on-one interviews.
Gabbard said that Lightfoot's "blatant anti-white racism is abhorrent," and she urged President Biden and Vice President Harris to demand Lightfoot resign as mayor of Chicago.
Mayor Lightfoot's blatant anti-white racism is abhorrent. I call upon President Biden, Kamala Harris, and other leaders of our county—of all races—to join me in calling for Mayor Lightfoot's resignation. Our leaders must condemn all racism, including anti-white.

But that's unlikely to happen. The White House only condemns racism going in one direction. They are very well-versed in racism fostered by the majority racial group in the United States, and have issued numerous executive orders condemning it. That light of that condemnation, however, is not likely to be shown on Lightfoot.
Lightfoot tweeted: "Diversity and inclusion is imperative across all institutions including media. In order to progress we must change. This is exactly why I'm being intentional about prioritizing media requests from POC reporters on the occasion of the two-year anniversary of my inauguration as mayor of this great city."
And in an interview with local news, Lightfoot doubled down. As a lesbian, a black woman, and a Democrat, Lightfoot issued this edict from her executive office because she believes fully that it is the right thing to do. She defended the policy, saying:
"If I as the black woman mayor, the first ever… don't challenge us. The collective us, to do better. To really, make sure that … in every institution, it reflects the diversity and nuance and texture of our city, then shame on me."

Everyone who is advocating for racism, from the Biden to Lightfoot, is doing so because they believe they are stating the morally correct position. Equity has been touted by President Joe Biden as the thing his administration is most interested in implementing. Equity is a key component of the "diversity, equity, and inclusion" craze, but equity does not mean equality.
Instead, equity is the concept of an equality of outcomes. And for equity enthusiasts, it doesn't matter how we get to that equal outcome, so long as we get there. That leaves equality sorely lacking.
Lori Lightfoot is actively advocating for racism, and she's enacting it as policy from her mayoral office. Lightfoot defended her position as right and just. Gabbard knows better, and so too should all of our elected leaders. When we give preference to individuals based on their racial or ethnic background we are denying the very notion of liberty, equality, and independence.
Lightfoot is wrong. Her practice of determining who she will talk to and who she will not is racist, it is unAmerican, and it is against the very notion of equality. It is impossible to imagine any elected leader saying the same about preferencing a religious group, an ethnicity, or any other racial group other than white people. This is a dangerous and horrifying thing and absolutely no one should stand for it at all. This should be an impeachable offense. Biden and Harris should wake up to the racism their divisive policies are enabling in their own party.
