“So there’s a big difference between equality and equity,” Harris said. “Equitable treatment means we all end up at the same place.”
President Donald Trump has repeatedly said that that America will not be a socialist country, but Senator Kamala Harris, running to be vice president, or president, it's hard to tell, has basically promised it.
In a campaign spot that Harris dropped on Twitter yesterday, she said: "So there's a big difference between equality and equity. Equality suggests that everyone should get the same amount. The problem with that is not everybody is starting out from the same place."

"So if we're all getting the same amount but you started out back there and I started out over here, we could get the same amount but you're still going to be that far back behind me.
"It's about giving people the resources and the support they need so that everyone can be on equal footing and compete on equal footing. Equitable treatment means we all end up at the same place."
While equality is something that is governed by America law, and everyone is equal under the law, equity has more to do with those factors that cannot be controlled, including an individual's behaviour and intention.
If everyone is given the same advantages, there's no reason to believe they will use those opportunities the same way. Inequity is not something that can be legislated without legislating away individual rights.
President Trump has described the Biden/Harris ticket as a "Trojan Horse," meaning that a Biden victory will mean leadership from Harris and other far-left components of the Democrat party. In a recent 60 Minutes interview, Norah O'Donnell asked Harris her intentions toward socialism.
"You're considered the most liberal United States Senator. Are you going to bring those progressive policies you supported as a Senator into a Biden Administration?" Harris affirmed a pledge to support Biden, stating she would share her perspectives with Biden, should he win on Tuesday.
"Is that a socialist or progressive perspective?" O’Donnell asked. Harris laughed.
Vice President Mike Pence has made it clear that the Trump administration stands in direct opposition to the prospect of an economically-socialist mentality within the Oval Office.
"America will never be a socialist country," Pence affirmed.
