Andrew Scheer criticizes Justin Trudeau on SNC-Lavalin allegations in the National Post

Justin Trudeau ran his campaign for prime minister on the basis of transparency with the goal of restoring faith in the Canadian democracy, says Scheer, and Trudeau, as usual is showing exactly how he is not living up to his promises.

Andrew Scheer came out on Monday with an article at the National Post criticizing Justin Trudeau for betraying Canadians, after allegations surfaced of interference in the justice system and deep corruption within the Prime Ministers office.

SNC-Lavalin, the engineering and construction giant, and one of the biggest Liberal Party’s donors, is currently being prosecuted by the RCMP for bribery, after multiple instances of questionable projects abroad and within Canada.

Justin Trudeau’s office allegedly tried to help the corporation by pressuring former attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould to overrule the justice system and grant them a deal instead of a trial.

Thankfully, Wilson-Raybould did not act in accordance to the alleged pressures from Justin Trudeau’s government and did not overrule the due process of law.

This would be a gross violation against the justice system and completely throws Trudeau’s promise of transparency out the window.

It is because of Trudeau’s campaign pledge to Canadians to restore faith in democracy, that Andrew Scheer is so disappointed in the alleged actions by the Prime Ministers cabinet.

Last week, after Trudeau had been timely absent from Parliament, Scheer demanded an emergency meeting over the Trudeau, SNC-Lavalin allegations.

The NDP reportedly joined the Conservatives in seeking an emergency meeting with the House of Commons justice committee to discuss corruption within the Prime Minister’s office.

The two parties have successfully scheduled the meeting to vote on a motion calling officials, who are involved in the alleged interference in the SNC-Lavalin bribery case, to testify.

However, Scheer said in his article that the government is willing to shut down any attempt for this motion to go through, again denying Canadians their deserved transparency.

Unfortunately the best option to hear the truth is from, the former attorney general, Wilson-Raybould, herself. However, she is barred from speaking on the matter because of a solicitor-client privilege.

Within his article, Scheer casts a large shadow on Trudeau’s innocence.

Why?

Because why wouldn’t Trudeau allow the public to inquire about this situation through this motion, proving the innocence that Trudeau has pledged?

Andrew Scheer has posed interesting questions in his article.

Furthermore, he has promised to do everything in his legal, official right to deliver answers to Canadians, who should be receiving them from the Prime Minister.

What do you think? Is Trudeau hiding something? Will Canadians ever get the transparency they were promised?
