Axios on HBO sat down with White House senior adviser Cedric Richmond to discuss reparations, in which he stated that the Biden administration would make race reparations a top issue.
Daily Mail reports that Cedric Richmond said the White House's efforts to tackle reparations begins with Biden’s support of H.R. 40., a bill that aims to study the issue of reparations in itself.
But clearly the administration doesn’t plan to stop there.

Journalist Mike Allen pressed Richmond on the issue of direct payments to the descendants of slaves. Cedric indirectly acknowledged the notion by saying free college tuition to historically black colleges and things of that nature would be “well on your way” to what Allen was talking about.
Earlier in February, White House press secretary stated that President Biden both supports a study on reparations but is also willing to "take actions within his own government in the meantime."
Recently former President Obama opined to Bruce Springsteen that reparations were an “unattainable” goal during his presidency. “What I saw during my presidency was the politics of white resistance and resentment, the talk of welfare queens and the talk of the undeserving poor and the backlash against affirmative action,” he said on Bruce’s podcast.
