BLM shuts down fundraising after states threaten legal action due to lack of transparency

According to Washington Examiner, the states of Washington and California ordered BLM to cease all fundraising activities after Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation failed to disclose the organizations finances in 2020.

BLM recieved nearly a billion dollars that year following the death of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis Police Department, despite organizing and participating in deadly destructive riots. BLM Global Network Foundation is the legal entity that represents BLM.

"We take these matters seriously and have taken immediate action," an unidentified spokesperson for the BLMGNF told the Washington Examiner. "We have immediately engaged compliance counsel to address any issues related to state fundraising compliance. In the interim, we have shut down online fundraising as we work quickly to ensure we are meeting all compliance requirements."

On Jan. 5, the state of Washington ordered BLM to "immediately cease" fundraising activities in the state and warned that the organization would be penalized $2,000 for each violation, Washington Examiner reports.

Last week, California Attorney General Rob Bonta formally told the founders of Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation know that they will be held personally responsible if they fail to provide missing financial records.

On Wednedsay afternoon, the California DOJ said that it would not confirm or deny an investigation into BLM so as to "protect its integrity," according to Washington Examiner.

The scandal comes at the same time schools (K-12) in both Washington and California are participating in Black Lives Matter Week at School where students are learning about dismantling the nuclear family, globalism, and queer-affirming thinking in the name of racial justice.
