BREAKING: Elon Musk restores accounts of doxxing journalists after poll: ‘The people have spoken’

The results came in, and Musk announced the accounts would be reinstated.

Musk polled his 121.6 million followers on whether the journalists should be reinstated and offered the options of "Now, Tomorrow, Seven days from now, [or] longer."

He then redid the poll with only two options "Now [or] In 7 days" after 43 percent said the accounts should be reinstated and 57 collectively said they should remain suspended writing, "Sorry, too many options. Will redo poll."

Musk initially said the suspensions will last seven days writing, "Accounts engaged in doxxing receive a temporary 7 day suspension."

Since buying the social media giant, Musk has frequently used polls to gauge users’ sentiment on controversial topics regarding the platform such as whether or not former US President Donald Trump should be reinstated to the platform.

The Tesla and Space X CEO explained why he suspended the accounts of left-wing journalists Thursday night writing, "Same doxxing rules apply to ‘journalists’ as to everyone else," Musk responded to a thread by venture capitalist Mike Solana questioning the suspensions.

"They posted my exact real-time location, basically assassination coordinates, in (obvious) direct violation of Twitter terms of service," he added.

The billionaire continued, "Criticizing me all day long is totally fine, but doxxing my real-time location and endangering my family is not."

Wednesday night, Musk posted video footage of the man who allegedly stalked and attacked the car in which his son was riding in. He tweeted, "Anyone recognize this person or car?" along with a video showing a masked man in black inside the vehicle.

Musk revealed earlier in the day that the car his son X Æ A-12 was riding in had been trailed by a "crazy stalker" on Tuesday night, leading to an announcement by Musk that any accounts on Twitter that doxxed a person's real-time location would be suspended from the platform.

Musk also suspended an account on Wednesday that previously tracked his private jet in real time and pledged to take legal action against the account’s owner for endangering his family.
