BREAKING: Police arrest ‘Blackface Trudeau’ at Black Lives Matter Toronto protest

The situation became heated when the blackface protester attempted to move into the crowd, prompting shouts of anger to erupt from the already tense crowd. Following the blackface man’s apparent attempts to agitate the marchers, bicycle-mounted police very quickly escorted the man out of the square to calls from protesters to arrest him, referring to him as “Blackface Trudeau.”

“Why aren’t you arresting him? Arrest him!”

Protesters barraged the police with more complaints, with one asking: “How come you’re not arresting Trudeau?”

“Black face Trudeau.”

“Get him outta here, bro. You’re a piece of sh*t and a disgrace.”

“Arrest Trudeau.”

Police eventually arrested him and put him in a police car away from the protest group.

The rally took place at the Nathan Phillips Square in downtown Toronto to protest the killing of George Floyd. Newstalk 1010 described the gathering as the “Action For Injustice” rally. It was in protest of the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25 and the death of Regis Korchinski-Paquet on May 27.

Protests have been ongoing in Toronto and around the world. They began on May 26, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after a video showing the graphic and brutal killing of George Floyd in police hands went viral online.

Monday, June 7, will mark two weeks since Floyd's death.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
