The former Conservative leader Andrew Scheer was opposed by protestors when he attempted to hold a rally that celebrated the accomplishments of John A. Macdonald, Canada’s first prime minister.
Scheer attempted to hold a “virtual rally” in celebration of the father of Canada’s confederation, following the defacement and decapitation of a Macdonald statue in Montreal, according to CTV News.
Scheer was confronted by protestors who screamed “shame” and attempted to interrupt the former leader from speaking. In a video posted to Scheer’s Facebook page, he can be heard struggling to speak over the noise of the mob.

“You’re f*cking trash,” said another protestor to an MP accompanying Scheer.
“If we replace cancel culture with critical thinking, we can have a heartfelt conversation instead of emotional reactions.”
The rally was held next to a statue of Macdonald in Victoria Park in Regina, Saskatchewan.
