Canadian nurses under investigation after traveling to US to join anti-lockdown protest

The women were seen in videos posted by the group Nurses Against Lockdowns where they were addressing the Global Frontline Nurses summit. The event took place in front of the US Supreme Court.

One woman in the video, Sarah Choujounian of Toronto, claims to have been a nurse at a nursing home for 16 years but that she lost her job after criticizing lockdowns, the use of the coronavirus vaccine on seniors, and visitation restrictions on seniors.

The CNO says she worked at the Norfinch Care Community in North York until last year.

In another video, London neonatal intensive care unit nurse Kristen Nagle can be seen speaking, with Nagle saying that the lockdowns were "crazy" given the relatively low rates of coronavirus among Canadians.

According to the London Health Sciences Centre, where Nagle worked, she has been on unpaid leave since November after taking part in "a local anti-masking rally." LHSC said that they "took immediate action to ensure the hospital remains a safe environment for everyone" and that they would await a final decision on her employment status once the investigation into her conduct finishes.

The CNO is now saying the two women are under investigation for their actions.

"The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) is investigating Kristen Nagle and Sarah Choujounian," the college said in a statement. "The legislation does not permit us to provide details on the progress or ongoing status."

The CNO further stated that the results of their investigation will be shared publicly when it is completed.
