“My heart is broken for the families and friends of those who lost their lives and for anyone who is suffering,” he said. “I will continue to pray for all of them, and will be of service in any way I can.”
Ahead of the disaster, Drake joined Scott on the stage before the show at Houston's NRG Park was shut down. A deadly crush of fans, which some attendees say was "incited" in part by performer Travis Scott, caused eight deaths and hundreds of injuries.
Eight people were killed in what authorities have now deemed to be a trampling incident during the first night of the two-day festival. Many children were among the injured, some of whom remain hospitalized. The New York Post reports that a 9-year-old boy is currently clinging to life and in a coma after suffering internal injuries.

Scott is currently facing criticism for his involvement in the tragedy, with many accusing him of showing a lack of remorse as he continued to perform even as first responders were attempting to rescue dead and injured fans from the crowd.
Several lawsuits have been initiated by concertgoers, including one against both Drake and Scott.
