Florida Democrat candidate claims Jan. 6 was worse than 9/11
Pamela Keith, a failed candidate for the Democrats in Florda’s 18th Congressional District, tweeted on Saturday that the events of Sept. 11 2001 were ‘not even close’ to being as bad as those of Jan. 6 2021.
Pamela Keith, a failed candidate for the Democrats in Florda's 18th Congressional District, tweeted on Saturday that the events of Sept. 11 2001 were 'not even close' to being as bad as those of Jan. 6 2021.
Keith goes on in her tweets to echo similar sentiments from those pushed on Saturday on MSNBC, saying that "after the last 5 years, I take stock that NOT ONCE on 9/11 or the days and months afterwards, did I fear for the survival of the nation, or our democracy," but that "the last 5 years have been a DYSTOPIAN HELL of watching our democracy implode."
Keith's forays into politics at the state and federal level have proven unfruitful. She has previously lost the race for the House seat in 2018, and prior to that, unsuccessfully ran for a seat in the Florida Senate back in 2016.
Keith's discourse has proven to be less than popular with her fellow twitter users. The tweet went viral, generating almost 7000 comments, most of them overwhelmingly negative. Below are listed just a few of many examples of the public's reaction to Keith's posts:
Keith appears to have summarily blocked at least two of her critics (the ones writing the response tweets shown immediately above), and how has severely limited replies to her posts:
