The threats were made on October 16 when Campbell, then unidentified, threatened to commit a school shooting against an unnamed Toronto school in an online chatroom.
According to police, "steps were [immediately] taken to ensure the safety of potentially targeted schools and officers started an investigation into identifying and locating the man from the online chat."
While at the time of the threat it was unclear whether the man actually intended to commit a school shooting, the police now appear to believe that the man was not planning to do so.
Campbell is scheduled to make a court appearance later this afternoon.
