The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), has just released its new rules for high school sports during the pandemic.
Full-contact sports like wrestling are okay, but athletes are prohibited from shaking each other's hands before and after matches.
As sports at all levels are slowly opening up again, other rules include frequent hand sanitizing, which is to be done before and after warm-ups, and at every timeout and break in the game, according to local outlet WLWT5.
Though the athletes will come face to face on the mat, social distancing must be practiced on all team benches, between athletes and coaches, at all times. Masks are also required at all times when not actively playing or warming up.
Referees will indicate the winner of a wrestling match by pointing instead of raising the winner's arm, as has been tradition to date. There will be no more sharing of equipment among athletes, for any reason.
