The Green Party candidate in the 2018 provincial election in Ottawa Centre has made some eyebrow raising comments on social media regarding the police and caucasian males.
Cherie Wong, a professional activist who leads "anti-oppression workshops" in her spare time, has often been critical on her social media of white males. In 2019, for instance, Wong mused "Why are white men so fucking entitled? (I mean I know why BUT FUCKING HELL)"
Similarly, in 2016—exactly two years before the Green Party selected her as their candidate—Wong said that "all lives matters but for now. [sic] Black Lives Matters more!"

View on XIn the 2018 election, Wong finished 4th in the traditionally left-leaning riding of Ottawa centre, capturing 3.5 percent of the vote.
Wong, it turns out, is from the same riding as the 2015 federal candidate Tom Milroy who rather controversially mocked Alberta's economic woes and called on the UCP to be deported.
The selection of both Wong and Milroy may lead to questions over the competence of the Green Party's Ottawa Centre riding association.
Wong does not only save her ire for white men, but also for the police, women advocacy organizations, and Canada itself. In 2019, Quillette published a profile on Wong's campaign to destroy the Equal Vote organization after she was fired for "watching TV during work hours."
More recently, in 2020, Wong called Canada "KKKANADA" due to the nation state being, in her view, a "colonial, racist, sexist state." Wong went on to describe the police who were monitoring a protest as having a "surveillance problem ... Fuck the police."
