President ‘won’t be removed’: Trump and Pence to work together to finish term

This also means that Pence will not aid or participate in any of the last-ditch efforts to impeach the President while he is still in office.

According to Bloomberg, the Vice President was initially angry at the President for the events of Jan. 6, and this is the first time that they have spoken since the incidents which eventually left five people dead.

Because of the riot, some were speculating that Pence might have been willing to invoke the 25th Amendment and forcibly remove Trump from office, which is what many people in the Democratic caucus were hoping for.

In the meantime, House Democrats are going full-steam ahead with impeachment proceedings, and are expected to vote on such later in the week, starting on Wednesday.

The measure seeks to prevent Trump from being able to run for President (or any other office) in 2024, and cites "incitement of insurrection", claiming that he "willfully made statements that, in context, encouraged — and foreseeably resulted in — lawless action at the Capitol".
