PublicSq sponsors Jordan Poyer’s charity tournament at Trump golf course after backers pull out

The player's representatives at Avalon Sports Group made a statement on Twitter, revealing that online marketplace PublicSq is the new sponsor for the event scheduled to take place at The Blue Monster Course on July 10.

"We are grateful to announce that PublicSq will be our presenting sponsor for this year's edition," the statement read. "We also want to highlight the outpouring of support that we have received from professional athletes, the general public, businesses, and charitable organizations across the country."

"Lastly, we would like to announce that the proceeds of this tournament will benefit the ECMC Foundation," it concluded.

PublicSq founder and CEO Micheal Seifert told the New York Post, "PublicSq is proud to partner with Jordan Poyer. We’re glad to see he’s standing against the cancel-culture mob that tried to shut down this charity event and we will always support freedom-loving Americans like Jordan whenever there is an opportunity to do so.”

In its Twitter bio, PublicSq is listed as an online "directory of patriotic businesses. On its website, listed values including being "Pro-life, Pro-Family, Pro-Freedom." Appearing on TimcastIRL Wednesday, Seifert said, "We are definitely coming after Amazon. That is our goal."

According to its website, the ECMC Foundation is a Los Angeles-based organization that works "to improve higher education for career success among underserved populations through evidence-based innovation."

In a statement last weekend explaining why the tournament was canceled, Poyer said, "Unfortunately, there have been a numerous amount of teams up north that have pulled out of the tournament, not just out of the tournament but also wrote emails to a big sponsor that was going to help sponsor my tournament, and that company now, it’s unfortunate that they have pulled out and decided that they don’t want to take part in my tournament, in which they took part in last year, because of where it’s at, Trump National in Doral.”

"Let’s be very clear. Jordan did not cancel his event. We will always stand proudly with our beliefs and hold true to them," Poyer's wife Rachel said in a statement on Twitter on June 25. "Publicly. And we can easily spend our own money to fund the tournament. It wasn’t about that. The tournament will be at the same spot next year. Trump’s course."
