A rioter who was recorded in full body armor holding zip-tie handcuffs on the Senate floor during the Capitol riots has been arrested, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia announced Sunday.
The man has been positively identified as Larry Rendall Brock Jr., a retired lieutenant-colonel in the United States Air Force who had been decorated during his years of service.
According to Yahoo News, Brock has been getting "increasingly radical" recently,
The photo above shows Brock with full tactical armor, including a helmet, which he later stated was to protect himself from "BLM or Antifa". He is also holding several zip-tie handcuffs, which he claimed he had picked up off the floor, and later regretted doing so. Brock stated:
"I wish I had not picked those up. My thought process there was I would pick them up and give them to an officer when I see one. I didn't do that because I had put them in my coat, and I honestly forgot about them."
When asked why he decided to break in to the Capitol with the rest of the mob, he commented:
"The president asked for his supporters to be there to attend, and I felt like it was important, because of how much I love this country, to actually be there."
Brock went on to say that he thought it "was legal" to enter the Capitol without screeing or credentials, for some reason.
