According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD), a woman called 911 at 11:25 am to report an assault and an attempted strong-arm robbery on Marsh Island near the Montlake Cut. The suspect attempted to steal a woman's phone and then pushed her friend into Lake Washington when they tried to intervene.
The suspect ran off and the victim was pulled from the frigid lake by her friends.
Minutes later, another woman called 911 to report that the suspect threw her into Lake Washington after assaulting her 18-month-old daughter.
According to SPD, the victim alleges that the suspect approached them from behind and grabbed her daughter by the hood of her jacket. He lifted the toddler and tossed her to the side of the trail, causing her to scream and cry. When the mother tried to go to her daughter, the suspect grabbed her and pushed her into the lake.
The University of Washington Police Department told investigators that the suspect's description matches the suspect who threw water on an employee at UW Medical Center earlier that morning.
As the crime spree continued, the 33-year-old allegedly assaulted a jogger. Multiple witnesses called 911 to report that the suspect approached a female jogger from behind and kicked her knees out from under her, causing the jogger to fall to the pavement.
A male who witnessed the assault on the jogger exited his vehicle to help. During that time, the suspect punched him multiple times in his face and head, according to SPD.
The city of Seattle has seen record-breaking crime rates as a result of the popular Democrat leader led "Defund the Police" movement that emboldened criminals and caused hundreds of officers to leave the department.
