A Democratic donor that President Joe Biden appointed to a prestigious commission has been revealed to be one of the buyers of Hunter Biden’s artwork.
According to documents obtained by Business Insider, Los Angeles real estate investor Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali was appointed to the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad in July 2022 by President Joe Biden eight months after Hunter’s first art opening. However, it is unclear if she bought the art before or after she was appointed to the commission.

According to the report, an email was found on Hunter Biden’s laptop in which the First Son said he could influence who was appointed to the commission.
The documents obtained by the outlet also show an unnamed buyer that purchased 11 of Hunter Biden’s pieces for $875,000 and sales of Hunter Biden's art have reportedly brought in $1.3 million.
Hunter’s attorney Kevin Morris, who was recently spotted ripping bong hits during a visit with the president’s son, also owns some of the art, but it remains unclear if it was a gift or a purchase.
Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki previously claimed that “all interactions regarding the selling of art and the setting of prices will be handled by a professional gallerist adhering to the highest professional standards.”
She added that “any offer out of the normal course would be rejected out of hand, and the gallerist will not share information about buyers or prospective buyers, including their identities with Hunter Biden or the administration, which provides quite a level of protection and transparency.”
President Barack Obama’s former head of the Office of Government Ethics, Walter Shaub, previously alleged that the Biden administration had “outsourced government ethics to a private art dealer and they’re depending on unknown art purchasers to help keep the secret.”
Biden’s lawyer Abbe Lowell told the outlet that Hunter’s gallery "sets the pricing and handles all sales based on the highest ethical standards of the industry and does not disclose the names of any purchasers to Mr. Biden."
