Kevin Omar Mohamed and Daniel Khoshnood, both released from prison recently, have been found in gross violation of probation for downloading terrorist-related materials.
Mohamed and Khoshnood were found to have met with each other, as seen on a surveillance camera at the Yonge-Bloor subway interchange in downtown Toronto. Also, both of them were using smartphones in violation of their probation agreement.
According to Global News, both Mohamed and Khoshnood were found to have downloaded much of the same material into their phones, including hundreds of videos put out by the Taliban, Al Qaeda and ISIS, who have been emboldened in the wake of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan.
In addition, the pair had between them, among other things, literature justifying the killing of women and children, as well as instructional materials on the subjects of making bombs and poisons.
Agents of the Ontario Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (O-INSET) stated that they found the following statement on Khoshnood's device:
"We will keep sending out suicide bombers. Taliban is the true Islamic force. We will die for our cause. We will never give up."
"People might not like us but we will force them to respect us. We are a force to be reckoned with. We are not scared of death and we are ready to take on the whole world. Islam will dominate the world which is on our prophecies."
Both men were arrested, making this the third time Mohamed has been arrested for the same thing in Canada. However, no charges were laid, despite the extensive investigation and ample evidence. Instead, as reported by Global News, the pair were merely released on bonds with newer stricter conditions, including the requirement to wear ankle bracelets.
