Trudeau allegedly breaks Ontario indoor capacity limits to hold press conference

Parliamentary journalist Christopher Nardi noted the circumstances and happenings in a series of tweets on Friday:

"Here are pics from Trudeau's presser. I see at least 30+ people tightly packed. Public health rules for indoor gatherings in Ontario: max 25 people or 'All businesses' ... open to the public must limit capacity to the number of people that can maintain physical distancing of 2m"

"Trudeau was asked twice by a reporter if he thought this particular gathering (the spot is obviously chosen by the Liberal campaign, not reporters) respected current public health rules. He did not respond, but said this instead:"

Trudeau's response to the reporter, according to the tweet is now also reproduced below:

"Canadians are facing a really important choice right now. Cutting over the past number of months, Canadians saw what kind of big decisions, big choices, their government had to make to keep people safe, to make sure we got through this pandemic better than most other countries around the world."

"And our ability to do that and to continue to do that is what's at stake here in this election. The Conservatives have made it very clear they might even be going to tell their candidates to get vaccinated."

"That's not how we get through this pandemic. So we're going to continue to remind Canadians of the big decisions about our future. They're being made now and in the coming months, by your government. And that's where Canadians get to weigh in, because these decisions aren't getting made a year from now or two years from now, they're going to be made right now."

Nardi went on to mention that a second journalist, later identified as the CBC's Raffy Boudjikanian, asked a similar question, asking if "special clearance" was provided to the Liberal party to hold the event. In a similar fashion, Trudeau gave another non-sequitur response.

Nardi wasn't the only one to speak out regarding Trudeau's lack of a proper response to reporters. The Globe And Mail's Kristy Kirkup noted the same thing right after he did:

"@CBCRaffy asks Trudeau if Liberals got special clearance to hold event in Ontario that exceeds indoor crowd capacity limits. Trudeau doesn’t answer question and stresses importance of vaccines. A look inside the packed room," reads the tweet, followed by another photo.

Some people can be seen in the photos maskless, and none of them are 2m or more away from each other.

Earlier, when asked about his own government's draconian lockdown policies, he simply replied that "the answer to tyranny is to have an election."
