In a nearly twenty-four minute press conference following the federal government's recent cabinet reshuffle, Conservative MP and Shadow Finance Critic Pierre Poilievre slammed the Trudeau government, describing the PM as the "captain of a sinking ship. "
Poilievre remained his usual on-message self throughout the video and actively questioned some of the cavalcade of problems faced by the Liberal Finance Minister, as well as the Minister of Infrastructure.
The finance critic also reminded people that Trudeau had called China’s “basic dictatorship” his “most favoured jurisdiction in the world,” adding that he was “not sure” whether the prime minister would say the same again today.
Poilievre said China has no respect for Trudeau, noting that he is referred to as "Little Potato."
“The Chinese leadership does not take him seriously, they call him ‘Little Potato,’ they have shown him complete disrespect, and this is consistent with his reputation all around the world.”
