In what may be a deeply important vote in Canadian politics, the Commons Health Committee will vote on whether to force Trudeau's Health Minister to disclose government documents.
Patty Hajdu, who has served as health minister since Jane Philpott's departure, will have to reveal how prepared the government was with coronavirus, according to Blacklock's Reporter.
This may cause some concern for Trudeau's government as Patty Hajdu was revealed to have boasted about how they were prepared for coronavirus, discarding millions of masks in the process.
Canada would later have a significant mask deficit that forced the government to buy shoddy, Chinese made surgical masks.
"I find it mind-boggling," said one boggled Conservative MP. "We need to get to the bottom of this. I’m just boggled by this one."
This bill has received broad support from the opposition. Canada has often been viewed as a success when it comes to its handling of the coronavirus pandemic. In reality, however, Canada has struggled with the virus.
This release of documents could further damage a government who is reeling from the most recent WE Charity scandal.
It is public information, for instance, that the health department had minimal pre-pandemic supplies. This came in spite of the fact that the government was repeatedly warned about the consequences of their shortage.
