On Friday, one day before his resignation, the Conservative Party suspended Parish’s membership. Parish was a member of United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson's party.

In a sorrowful interview with the BBC, Parish said he regretted his actions and would carry them forever.

“I will have to live with this for the rest of my life,” he said. “I made a huge terrible mistake and I’m here to tell the world.”

He lamented the loss of what he saw as a favorable relationship with the public and with his fellow legislators.

"I was wrong what I was doing, but this idea that I was there watching it, intimidating women, I mean I have 12 years in Parliament and probably got one of the best reputations ever — or did have," Parish said.

According to the BBC, Parish may face charges of having violated the Indecent Displays (Control) Act which criminalizes the act of displaying indecent material to an unsuspecting public. The maximum sentence for someone found guilty of violating this law is a 2 year prison sentence.

"I was wrong, I was stupid, I lost sense of mind," Parish said
