In yet more bad vaccine news for the Trudeau government, the military general who has been tasked with leading Canada's vaccine rollout has placed blame on the federal and not the provincial governments.
The general stated that Canada's slow rollout has nothing to do with the fact that provinces are being sluggish with vaccine distribution, according to CTV News.
General Dany Fortin told journalists on Thursday that the "provinces and territories do their very best to administer as rapidly and as effectively as possible vaccines to Canadians throughout the country, full stop."
This, then, seems to place blame solely on the federal government for their failure to be bullish when purchasing vaccines.
"No one is holding onto vaccines in the reserve," continued the general.
"What I would say is, and based on a lot of conversations at all levels … what we see is a real desire to ensure that they have a constant flow of vaccines," he added.
Canada's lamentable vaccine governance has received international attention over recent days. Even the Trudeau-friendly CNN targeted his vaccine procurement, alongside The Atlantic and Fox News.
Similarly, Trudeau experienced the wrath of the British press after he said that the United Kingdom was soon to experience the third wave. Needless to say, the UK has one of the lowest numbers of cases in Europe after a highly successful vaccine program.
