Virginia authorities nab ‘Shopping Cart Killer’ accused of murdering at least 4 victims
Police said Robinson would arrange meetings via dating sites with the women at motels where he would kill the victims and then dispose of their remains in shopping carts.
Virginia authorities announced on Friday at a press conference that law enforcement now has the so-called "Shopping Cart Killer" in police custody.
The alleged serial killer has been identified as Anthony Robinson, age 35. He has been linked to the bodies of at least four victims found throughout the state.

According to local outlet Fox 5, the suspect operated over a wide swatch of territory ranging from Fairfax County bordering Washington, DC, down south to the Harrisonburg, Virginia, area, where two victims, identified as 54-year-old Elizabeth Redmon and 39-year-old Tonita Lorice Smith were discovered dead.
Investigators discovered a container Wednesday near the Moon Inn Hotel in an isolated wooded area along Fairhaven Avenue in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County. Inside the container were the remains of two more possible victims.
Officers tentatively identified one of the two victims found as 29-year-old Cheyenne Brown who had gone missing back in September.
Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis told the press that the victims are believed to have met the suspect online, using dating sites.
He would then set up meetings with the women in motel rooms, where he would kill them and then dispose of their bodies in shopping carts, police said.
Davis went on to comment that the investigation is still ongoing, despite Robinson's arrest, as they still aren't sure how many total victims he might have.
"He's killed four already, and we suspect he has more victims," Davis said. "He preys on the weak, he preys on the vulnerable, and he does unspeakable things with his victims." Law enforcement is working to identify the other victim whose remains were found in the container along with Brown's. Davis continued:
"We know who he is. Thank God he's behind bars right now. But that still doesn’t take away from the urgency that exists to identify any other victims that might be out here – literally beyond the Commonwealth of Virginia and up the East Coast."
In October, two suspects, a married couple, were arrested in Virginia for the murder of a Tallahassee, Florida, man whom they've met through a dating app.
