WATCH: Tucker Carlson says Democrats ‘are not trying to control guns, they’re trying to control you’

He tracked through Biden's statements, fact-checking each one, and arrived at the conclusion that Democrats "are not trying to control guns, they're trying to control you."

The evidence for this? The Democrats are routinely trying to ban rifles, while rifles are, Carlson reports, barely used in gun crime. These are sport rifles, while the real culprits in the gun violence scourge in the US are hand guns.

Hand guns are those used most frequently in violent crime. The murders that have been increasing in the US since the summer of 2020 are committed mostly with hand guns. These, however, are not on the list to be banned.

Instead, Carlson notes, Democratic leaders, prosecutors, and lawmakers have been reducing the penalties for gun crimes in cities. He cites a George Soros backed Chicago prosecutor, who instead of cracking down on gun crimes has loosened up on them.

If Democrats want to reduce gun violence, Carlson posits, they would go after the guns and the criminals that are actually responsible for the majority of the crime. It is the fact that they don't, that they instead go after legal guns and legal gun owners, that shows the impulse toward gun control is actually one of power.
