‘We need to reclaim our democracies’: Christine Anderson, Eva Vlaardingerbroek urge Canadians to fight globalism

Anderson is visiting several cities in Canada and the US part of her “Make it Your Business North American Tour.” She was joined in Ottawa by Dutch lawyer and political pundit Eva Vlaardingerbroek. Other speakers included a pastor, a municipal councilor and a journalist.

Anderson told The Post Millennial that she was “very happy to be back in Canada and meeting with so many people who love freedom and want to work to preserve their freedom.”

The MEP became a hero to supporters of the Freedom Convoy when she castigated Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for snuffing out protests against his Covid-19 mandates and lockdowns with the Emergencies Act – which effectively installed martial law in sections of Canada.

"Mr. Trudeau, you are a disgrace for any democracy," she told the European Parliament in March 2022.

Anderson scathingly dismissed Trudeau for lecturing Europeans about democratic values, saying he acted like a dictator, crushed civil dissent and treated truckers like “terrorists.”

Freedom Convoy personality Chris Barber, who, along with Tamara Lich, is facing charges of mischief and counseling to commit mischief in an Ottawa courthouse, attended the speech along with about 1,500 people. Several speakers recognized Barber as a “Canadian hero.”

The event was scheduled at the Ottawa Conference and Event Centre (OCEC) but the location canceled the booking just one day before the event, erroneously claiming that Anderson and Vlaardingerbroek are “commonly associated with hate speech and beliefs that are antithetical and completely unwelcome to OCEC, its management, employees and others who use our Conference and Event Centre.”

In her address to the audience, Anderson cited the cancellation as evidence of how woke some Canadians have become and said the conference center had responded to a call from “one dude … who thought it wasn’t a good idea to host us.”

Anderson, who is critical of the Trudeau government’s censorship, mass immigration and climate change policies, encouraged voters to become involved in politics and said the worst thing people can do in the face of a bullying government is to mind their own business.

As a German, she asked what would have happened if the world had ignored the crimes of Adolf Hitler and Nazism.

“What do you think would have happened if everyone had just minded their own business? What do you think would have happened? Well, if I had been born then under the circumstances, that would have meant I would have had to live under the despicable, totalitarian, Nazi rule. And I will be eternally grateful to you, the Canadians and to other nations around the world, that you did not mind your own business. But that you made it your business to free my people from this despicable monster. Thank you so much,” she said to a standing ovation from the audience.

Anderson acknowledged that she provokes controversy and Conservative Party of Canada leader Pierre Poilievre has forbidden his caucus members from meeting with Andeson and said through his spokesman that “it would be better if Anderson never visited Canada in the first place. She and her racist, hateful views are not welcome here.”

Neither Poilievre nor his spokesman have ever explained what “racist, hateful views” they are referring to.

“People don't particularly like me, for whatever reason. Their misconceptions about me are really their problem, not mine,” she said, noting that some critics ask, “can she just mind her own business?”

“No I will not do that: I reserve my right to intervene and to step in wherever I see the principles of democracy infringed upon and violated. I will step in, wherever I see fundamental rights of the people being taken away. I will step in and I will make it my business,” she said to further applause.

She urged people to fight globalism through “localism.”

“This whole tour has been about making it my business. It's also about getting involved in your municipality, at the local level, the school boards … we need to reclaim our democracies.” Anderson noted that the Ottawa event was almost entirely organized by women and she encouraged women to continue the fight and become “involved in politics.”

Vlaardingerbroek, who has gained international recognition for fighting a war on behalf of farmers against a Euro-centric Dutch government that has sought to limit the size of farms, crops and livestock, said the globalist agenda flowing from the World Economic Forum is threatening the lives of people everywhere.

“Apparently they want you to starve, they want you to be poor. Apparently they want you to be hungry. And if you understand that the globalist agenda is all about control, it all starts to make sense,” she said.

But she said this narrative of “doom” from “people with nefarious intentions” doesn’t need to persist.

“I have people coming up to me all the time asking me is there still hope for the Western world? Can we still turn things around? And my answer to that question is a definite yes, Of course we can,” Vlaardingerbroek said.

“Just look at what you've accomplished here in Canada … look around you with how many people are here today. As long as there are people like you who make it their business. There absolutely is hope for us.”
