Former NHL player Jordin Tootoo faced criticism after posting a tweet thanking the "hockey gods" for the news that he would be having a son as his third child.

The tweet was met by some outrage from those questioning if the former hockey player was unaware that girls could also play hockey. It appears Tootoo, who already has two daughters, was simply celebrating that he could have a son in the NHL someday.
Tootoo would later tweet a video of his two girls on the ice with the caption "Hockey is for everyone !! The great outdoors!"
