North Korea and South Korea exchanged gunfire at their border on Sunday.

The gunfire was exchanged just one day after Kim Jong Un returned to the public eye after a lengthy absence, wherein some speculated that the North's supreme leader had died from a botched surgery.

Kim made his return by visiting a fertilizer plant, his first public appearance since April 11.

Gunfire was exchanged at 7:41 am, local time. Officials believe there is a "low possibility" that the gunfire by North Korea was intentional, according to the South Korean military.

No injuries were reported.
