Police officers in Camden, NJ, were involved in a shooting earlier this week, but they were the ones being attacked. Two officers were at home with their 10-day-old infant child when their house was hit with six rounds of bullets, according to local 6ABC News.
The family was on the second floor, and while some of the shots breached the exterior, no one was hurt. Police are offering a $20,000 reward for anyone who brings forward information that leads to the arrest of those involved in the attack.
Camden County Police Chief Joseph Wysocki said "I do know that this was a targeted attack against this residence and the officers inside."
The shooters are believed to have been driving a Honda Odyssey, and police have located that vehicle.
Wysocki said that "it's critcal for us to speak to the owner, the occupants or friends of anybody that operates this vehicle."
The FBI Philadelphia Field Office is investigating. Special agent in charge of that office, Mike Driscoll, said that "we are determined to get to the bottom of this together."
Of the intentional attack, Wycoski said "It hurts, it hurts. I have 400 officers, everybody is hurt at this time and there is alot of anxiety. I'm not going to let three people or four people like change what's going on in Camden."
The number to report information is with the Camden County Police Department at (856) 757-7042 or the Citizen's Crime Commission at (215) 546-TIPS.
