Finnish cross-country skier Remi Lindholm finished the men's mass start race held Saturday at the Beijing Winter Olympics in a good deal of pain in a very sensitive place, due to the inclement weather conditions.

Reuters notes that this isn't Lindholm's first chilling experience mid-race.

Lindholm's penis became frozen over the weekend for the second time in a cross-country skiing race following a similar incident in Ruka, Finland, last year.

"You can guess which body part was a little bit frozen when I finished [the race] … it was one of the worst competitions I've been in. It was just about battling through," Lindholm told Finnish media after the grueling event.

Lindholm, who spent under an hour and 16 minutes trekking the course in freezing winds, needed a heat pack at the end of the event to thaw out his body part.

Saturday's race, which was shortened from 50 km to 30 km due to the brutal temperatures, was held in Zhangjiakou, China, the New York Post reported.

The race was  delayed for an hour as officials, fearing frostbite, hoped the bitter winds would subside for the unfortunate athletes who had to race in thin suits.

"When the body parts started to warm up after the finish, the pain was unbearable," lamented Lindholm, who managed to place 28 in the 60-skier event.
