A 51-year-old man is facing charges after having fled a Mississauga restaurant after a waitress spotted him trying to drug his date's drink.

Tariq Nawaz of Mississauga was having dinner with a woman in the Square One area of Mississauga on October 22 at approximately 6 p.m. The woman left to use the facilities and at that point Nawaz was seen by a waitress pouring a substance into the victim's drink.

According to CTV News,  the man then fled in his white 2016 Porsche. Nawaz was easily identified positively due to the exotic nature of the car and the personalized licence plate on it.

Nawaz was found and apprehended by Peel Regional Police, and was charged on Wednesday. The current charges he is facing are administering a noxious substance and breach of recognizance.
