In 2021, the Oscars received 8.9/19. In 2020 it got 18.1/33 and in 2019 it received a much higher 21.6/36.

Actors got $205K swag bags at the #Oscars. Imagine how many copies of Kamala's book they could have purchased for the children Biden has caged at the border.

Of course, the poor viewership may also have something to do with the pandemic.
Ricky Gervais, then, may have been less facetious than he thought when he told actors that "if you win, accept your little award, thank your agent and your god, and f*** off."
Despite this, this year's winners didn't take Gervais' advice. Regina King, for instance, spent some time lecturing the public about Derek Chauvin.
