It has been revealed that from Oct 2020 to Dec 2021, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) spent over $500,000 on private jet travel, despite her statements that the US has a "moral obligation" to deal with climate change.
Campaign filings from the Federal Election Commission show that Pelosi paid $65,000-plus to Clay Lacy Aviation of California, and over $437,00 to Virginia-based Advanced Aviation Team.
"For me, it's a religious thing," Pelosi had commented in Nov 2021, during the UN's climate change event held in Glasgow Scotland at the time, according to Fox News.
Pelosi's climate-change ally, John Kerry, who is the Biden administration's current climate envoy, also flew on his own private jet to Iceland to claim an environmentalist award, later trying to justify his actions by saying that it was the "only choice" for him at the time.
"I believe this is God's creation, and we have a moral obligation to be good stewards," she said, despite the fact that private jet travel is the highest carbon footprint per capita method of travel known to humanity at this time.
Pelosi has also called for concerns about climate change to be addressed in China before we even bring up other issues, such as the human rights abuses occurring within the authoritarian nation.
"Climate is an overriding issue, and China is a leading emitter in the world," said Pelosi during a Sept 2021 speech. According to Reuters, China is currently, by a large margin, the world's largest polluter.
