House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will appear in the drag queen show RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars. According to a Paramount+ announcement on Friday, the show will premier May 20 and feature a "tournament of champions" of previous drag competition winners.
Pelosi is among the special guests who will appear on the show. "Can I get an amen?" Pelosi can be heard to say at the end of the trailer for the season. This is one of the host's signature taglines.
Actors Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Cameron Diaz, journalist Ronan Farrow, comedian Nikki Glaser, supermodel Naomi Campbell, and singer Tove Lo also appeared in the commercial.
The 82-year-old California Congresswoman had previously been on the show in 2018 and told The Hollywood Reporter at the time, "This idea of people believing in themselves, being themselves, taking pride in themselves, is not just a lesson for politicians but for everyone in the country. And that’s why I was so excited and couldn’t resist being on the show."
According to the Huffington Post, Pelosi told the drag queens on the show, "You’re an inspiration, I hope you know, because you really know your power. It’s about taking pride. And that’s what you do ? take pride in yourselves."
She also tweeted about her 2018 cameo writing, "All I can say is, you betta werk! Had a fabulous time with @RuPaul and good luck to all the queens."
