The UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson's office has stated on Friday that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be flying across the Atlantic to attend the June G7 Leaders' Summit in person.

Following a phone call between the two heads of state, it was reported that the two of them spoke about items that would be on the agenda and that "the leaders looked forward to seeing each other in Cornwall in two weeks’ time." Trudeau had previously only stated that he was "hopeful" about being able to attend in person.

According to CTV News, Trudeau has manifested that his delegation and he will undergo all testing and self-isolation requirements, as required by law.

According to current federal Canadian pandemic relations, this would require a mandatory 14-day quarantine once he is back in Canada, with at least part of it taking place in one of the country's designated "quarantine hotels".

Trudeau has not left Canada since the pandemic started, and as recently as on Thursday told Canadians to avoid travel if at all possible.

The prime minister currently has not been fully vaccinated, as records show that he, among many other Canadians, is still waiting for his second dose of the vaccine.

The federal government continues to warn Canadian citizens against any non-essential travel due to the pandemic.
